We've covered which district to pick, three Saturdays, what you can walk and what the day costs. Around 1pm the remaining question is lunch: a real meal, in the district you already picked. Don't drive across Woodinville because you got hungry, and don't treat a cheese plate as food.
The Simple Version
- Hollywood is by far the best lunch area. You can eat well without leaving, but book a table.
- Downtown is second. Tasting plus lunch without moving the car.
- West Valley is three minutes down the same road as Hollywood. The restaurant strip. Put it on a Hollywood day.
- The Warehouse district is last. Nothing there is lunch. Eat before you park, drink through it or leave.
- Then pick by mood. A real restaurant, something lively, pizza, Italian, Indian, breakfast.
Figure $40 to $80 for two. If there's a kitchen, book it like a restaurant.
Efeste is the exception in the Warehouse district: a real kitchen, eight minutes from the 144th cluster, which makes it a detour rather than a neighbor. Don't plan the day around it.
If You Want a Real Restaurant
That's Hollywood, and three places sit at the same weight: the restaurant at DeLille, Heritage and Barking Frog. Book them.
The restaurant at DeLille is in the same building as the tasting, suite 100 next to the 101 tasting room. Lunch from 11:30 on weekdays and 11 on weekends. Reservations aren't required, and you should still make one on a Saturday. You taste, walk down the hall and eat.
Heritage is at the Hollywood Hill roundabout, 14450 Woodinville-Redmond Road. Local-owned, open at 11, closed Monday.
Barking Frog is at Willows Lodge, 14580 NE 145th, still in the Hollywood core. Weekday lunch runs 11 to 3, brunch on the weekend, dinner from 5. Don't show up at 3:30 on a Wednesday. There's nothing in between.
Maryhill at the Hollywood Schoolhouse is a bistro attached to a tasting. Fine if you're already there. Not the lunch if you have a choice.
Downtown is the version where you never move the car. Ten rooms around Woodin Creek Village, two minutes apart on foot, and Brian Carter runs a bistro alongside the flights. Book the table.
If You Want Something Lively
Von's at 15029 Redmond-Woodinville Road, next door to Novelty Hill. Guides file it as Hollywood, but it's West Valley, three minutes down the same road, and it's one of the best spots in the region. Sourdough, pizza, pasta and a real bar, open daily from 11. Walk-ins welcome, OpenTable if you want a table.
Hollywood Tavern is further up that road at 14501, next to Woodinville Whiskey. Historic roadside tavern. They share the lot with the distillery, so it fills, and weekends are first-come.
If You Want Pizza
Novelty Hill-Januik, on that same West Valley stretch. That's the best pizza, and you can eat it at the tasting. Cheese and charcuterie every day. The expanded menu, including the pizzas, runs Friday through Sunday.
Vivi is the one in Hollywood if you don't want to drive over to West Valley.
If You Want Italian
Italianissimo, 15608 NE Woodinville-Duvall Place. You leave the Warehouse district to get there. Close enough to drive, not a walk from 144th. Saturday and Sunday lunch from 12. Weekdays it opens at 3, which is too late between tastings.
Vivi also does Italian, back in Hollywood.
If You Want Indian
Curry Leaf in Woodinville Center, 17311 140th Avenue Northeast. That's town, not a tasting stop. Open at 11, closed Monday. You go on purpose.
If Breakfast Is the Point
Maltby Cafe out in Maltby, about 14 minutes from Hollywood. 8809 Maltby Road, 7 to 3. Go if breakfast is why you left the house. Don't slot it between two Hollywood tastings.
The PourPlan Take
Hollywood will feed you. Downtown will feed you if you stay in the village. West Valley will feed you three minutes from Hollywood. The Warehouse district will not.
Von's if the group wants a room that's actually fun. Novelty Hill-Januik if pizza is the point. Curry Leaf if you want Indian and you're willing to go into town. Maltby Cafe if breakfast is the outing.
Start with Hollywood or Downtown. If you're headed to the Warehouse district, eat first.
